This is the first time I’ve seen this, I’m not sure whether I like it or not but it’s definitely interesting nonetheless. KLM, the Dutch airline now has this new thing called Meet & Seat. Instead of simply picking your seat before boarding, it’s gone one step further and giving you the option to connect your Facebook or Linkedin profile to your KLM account!
What does this mean? You’ll be able to see who else has their profile connected and basically gives you the opportunity to judge whether you want to sit next to that interesting character with the cheese addiction, or this one with the handsomely good looks. I can see some people thinking this would be downright creepy, whilst others heralding the airline industry as taking some innovative new moves. I’m not sure I’d use this, the random flight seat lottery so far hasn’t been too bad.
Has anyone else come across this via any other airlines? I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen this before in the airlines I’ve flown with, but hey, times are changing!
